Midwinter Lecture – Miracle in the Making
Kevin’s world began in the Irish Catholic neighborhood of Boston. Poverty was a fact of daily life. He can remember signs in the store windows that read: “Irish and Blacks Need Not Apply.” His family members were part of the Mafia and they protected the local kids and the kids let them know when the police were around.
After a time in the Navy and through involvement in leadership in the community Kevin learned that he had a true heart and love for walking alongside youth. Kevin has a fascinating story of how he came to serve the Boys and Girls Club of Goshen. In 2019 it will be Kevin’s 25th year of Elkhart County Boys & Girls Club leadership which has almost miraculously grown to 5000 active members.
