Favorite Feature Films

Taught by Ervin Beck

Class begins 10/29/2019, ends 11/19/2019

Four film-goers will present and lead discussions on their favorite films. Oct. 29: Irene Gross, Babette’s Feast (103 min.), a Danish film about a gourmet cook and her guests. Nov. 5: JoAnn Brant, Children of Men (109 min.), a “dystopian thriller.” Nov. 12: John Bender, Maud (115 min.), a Canadian docu-drama about a quirky folk artist. Nov. 19: Ervin Beck, Tree of Life (139 min.), the Job story in a Waco, Texas, family. Each film will be viewed in one sitting, with brief introductions and discussions, so each session will exceed normal LLI classes in length.

Ervin Beck, the coordinator, is Professor Emeritus of English at Goshen College.
