Documentaries for Social Change
Documentaries have seen a huge resurgence in the last ten years with the growth of streaming platforms and access to documentaries has never been easier. However, not all documentaries are created for the same purpose. The Film Production program at Goshen College has been producing documentaries with the purpose to inspire and to influence social change. Come and see two of their most recent films and hear from the faculty and students who worked on them. The first week will be “Goshen’s Golden Cage”, a documentary about the immigrant experience in our local area, and the second week will screen “Foodlife — Farming for a Sustainable Future”, a film about how one organization in Japan which is trying to train leaders from rural areas in developing nations in order to help solve the problem of food insecurity.
