Energy: Sources, Distribution, Uses

Ken Horst

October 6, 8, 13, 15; 10:00-11:30 am

Jennings Auditorium, Greencroft Goshen Community Center

What are our primary sources of energy? How do energy distribution systems work? Where does all this energy go? Why does our distribution system use AC when most current systems such as computers us DC? Why did a major company recently install an electric motor for natural gas distribution? These and related questions will guide our high school level exploration of the basic physics, economics, and politics of our expanding demand for energy. Horst recently retired from Goshen High School where he initiated an innovative and widely recognized program in rocket science.
